done it and I am still alive – but it has provoked an allergic reaction and it is not terribly pleasant; the back of my throat is bleeding and I’m having problems swallowing.
I have adrenalin on standby but I don’t think it’s going to go full blown anaphylaxis; I only ate a few mouthfuls

How awful… I’m truly sorry. And impressed that you can deal so calmly with your eyes and throat bleeding—you must be quite brave.
The first time it happened (some years ago) I freaked out completely and totally. However when you realise that it’s simply an allergic reaction, that it can be controlled, it becomes significantly less frightening.
I’m just disappointed that not only has the allergy failed to go away, the apple I ate wasn’t anywhere near as tasty as it deserved to be
