start a new career
Starting New 2 years ago

I am ending an old job soon, but need to replace it with another job, or preferably, a new career. I have never been one of those people you could pigeonhole into a specific job. I am more of the type to try different things. I was obligated to doing a job I didn’t enjoy for 20 years in order to gain the benefits and a pension, which I am thankful for, but now it’s time for a positive change.

Now that I am older, I would like to try something different in my approach to work. I would like to try getting a job closer to what I enjoy in life. I enjoy taking pictures, Apple Macintosh computers (working with, raving about), graphic design, editing design, dogs, riding bicycles and motorcycles, walking, running, working out with weights, and travel. I also love to read, write, and multimedia. I play guitar and piano, plus sing. How do I incorporate most of these likes into a diverse job?

Some random thoughts...

It’s difficult to incorporate so many interests into a single occupation. But can you take a lion’s share of them, so to speak, that could function together for a new career? Use those as the starting point, then expand.

Certainly the photography and travel can translate to travel articles for newspapers and magazines. Perhaps travel articles related to biking, or dog friendly travel.

Thanks

Yeah, I need to narrow down the interests. I can’t seem to pick just one or two. I think photography is a good start, and I could incorporate other interests into that by what I photograph. I think Graphic Design or Web Design also fit, as does Apple Computers, Photoshop and Aperture.
