learn how to garden
Learn how to garden 2 years ago

Well – I’m not saying I learned, but I’ve defnintely started. Bought red, pink, purple and blue perennials and annuals, as well as tomatoes and herbs – dug up some weedy, grassy patches of dirt, and just got to planting. It’s not the easiest work – especially when you have a lot of rocks and roots in the soil. But after a couple of weeks it’s a pleasure to go outside on my patio and look at pretty flowers instead of yukky crabgrass.

The best part was working with my 18-year-old daughter – with no distractions. We just worked and talked – and that was lovely. Now it’s just maintenance work – a bit of weeding, a lot of watering, and keeping my fingers crossed that everything lives. :-)
