Yeah I guess the whole awareness of nakedness with kilts compared to skirts is a bit ironic and makes you wonder how the “underwear standards” became reversed. Chances are if the media ended up filming proof that a member of the British Royal Family was wearing underwear under their kilt they would probably make an equally large fuss about it as they are about Brittney Spears not wearing it under her skirts.

For me I’d say that having Celtic blood in me is more of an excuse than a primary reason for getting a kilt. I heard that they are regarded as being very comfortable especially in warm weather and well suited for hiking. My main interest is the modern informal kilts that not worn with the traditional knee socks with flashes or Prince Charlie Jacket. Although I don’t plan on ditching the sporran as in addition to acting as a purse in the absence of pockets it also serves as a counter weight in the front which greatly lessens your chances of flashing someone by accident.
