My wife and I live in a coop situation with my in-laws, coowning a house and some land here in Astoria/Warrenton, OR. We ended up here because after my wife’s father was laid off from a very good job in Sacramento, CA at the end of 2003 we decided to take a road trip and see if there was some place we liked better. I took some time off from my less-than-significant job (marketing guy for a really small and somewhat unethical mortgage broker) and we drove north for three days. We wound up in Astoria and it was love at first sight. When we got back to Cali a few days later we immediately started packing. A month later we were settled into a little house three minutes from the beach, just in time for Christmas.
Comments:
Astoria, beautiful Astoria
I looked it up on the Internet. I fell in love with it too. I looked at houses and communities. It is beautiful. I can’t wait to move. Problem is, the work my husband wants is in Portland. Plus, I have seen few teaching positions in the Astoria area. There are more in Portland. Still, I think we’ll be happy somewhere in between. My husband is from Sacramento, I’m from North Carolina, where we are now. I’d love to talk with you more about it. I’d love it if we could know some people before we move there. I envy you.
I want to move to Oregon
I want to move to Oregon I don’t know where in Oregon or how. I am thinking of Porland, I have never been there or anywhere on the west coast, but it had been my dream for quite sometime. If any body can give me some ideas i will apresiated.

Astoria
I am from the Sacramento area as well & we have pretty much decided on Astoria Oregon after we sell this house. It is such a cute historical town with old houses & beautiful ocean. Kind of reminds me of San Francisco – only much smaller & beautiful trees everywhere. It seems like a city with a lot of interesting things to do & really good people!
I can’t wait!
