The legal age to onate blood here is 16 so I have to wait a little longer…I must admit, I’m quite scared because I really hate needles, but it’s comething I really want to do because it may help save a life one day =D
My sister donated blood this year and she said it doesn’t really hurt and the satisfaction it brings is more than worth it, so in a year’s time I’m gonna screw up my courage and see how it goes! =D

I really dislike the needles, too. Yet, I’ve donated almost 10 gallons now. Here’s my secret – I tell my blood-draw-tech that I’m a “needle wimp”, pop in my earphones, watch the scrubbing part, and then turn my head away. I just don’t watch. The feeling isn’t bothersome, just a little pain that settles into very mild discomfort for all of 10 minutes. Big deal. The technicians and nurses are so supportive of someone who is scared and still donates!
