Minor Rant About Banking 2 years ago

I have succeeded in clearing my visa bills promptly each month and saving a lot of money from each month’s wage packet into the next and yet still my bank succeeds in screwing up my current account and debting money when they should not have and then debting more because the original debt put my current account into the red.

I just dont understand how a bank does that when you have other accounts with them which are so full of money, I can only conclude that while it seems like a lot of money to me its small change for them and they dont think I’m important enough not to piss off.

Problem is...

That’s I’ve moved bank already and it was not small thing, changing all my debit systems and others, I think that banks depend on that relative inflexibility or trouble to keep a core of customers and they only compete for the small segment of floating consumers.

I do have a credit union membership, in fact they handle my bigger debts from a couple of years ago and I’ve been saving with them for a long time, they helped me with my debt when the bank was unwilling to extend me credit on it for as long as it would take to pay it all back.

I definitely do believe they are more conscientious, in Europe at least, and Germany, they were a local response to the crimes of usury and money lending which were driving working people into the ground.
