I felt really proud when I read this, because unlike probably any other country on the planet we’ve never been ruled by a foreign power. Before anyone mentions the Romans, we weren’t conquered by them we were merely being polite and showing some hospitality. Also in 40AD or whatever it was we were hardly a nation, just a collection of feudal kingdoms.
Being patriotic is of course very good but I think this entry is a bit snob. Hoe do yo know about all the other countries, a ’ probably ’ does not save this.
I am telling this because I have been thought the same in middle school and I now see that the important thing is not to be apart and different, or to rule or not to rule, to decide or not to decide, it is to be together. The hardest and the most beautiful thing I can ever imagine is people living together, just like love…
