take better care of myself (read all 70 entries…)
another meeting with the wellness coach.

I realized that I keep too many calendars and I don’t check any of them regularly. Well regularly is not the right word. I check them on thursday and friday but forget to check them any other day, so things slip through the crack. We discused different ways for me to try and fix this problem. If I can be a little more consistent with certain things in my life, maybe other things like having more fun will happen more frequently. I made a list of things that I would like to see done on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. I have been trying to find the right calendar that will help me stay organized, torn between paper and electronic. I guess I will have to make a decision. Now to figure out a way to make sure this gets done on a regular basis by pairing it up with something else that I do every day.

I never knew slipping through cracks was a form of exercise!
Well, maybe I’m misreading this….
Oh yes, I am….

I recognize this problem :-)

I’ve switched to Getting Things Done, to help with both work and my personal life. It had suggestions for organizing your life, and ONE place for tasks and calendars is critical. And it’s built around SMART goals.

It seems to be helping me, you may want to look into it. I do it using MS Outlook, with the changes they suggest.

that sounds wonderful but...

first where do I find this? next I work two different jobs and I do not have access to a computer at one job, and the other one the computers are task oriented only, nothing downloadable, and I ahve a lot of free time in which to do a lot of planning at work. So in essence I need to have portability. any suggestions?

Perhaps if I invest in a better palm pilot that actually syncs with my computer on an outlook format maybe I can use that. This souns really efficient but I absolutely love teh feeling of a paper planner, flipping pages, I am a visual learner and I can remember where notes are by wehre tehy are on a page or the color or ddoodle in the corner. You see my problem?

The official website

is http://www.davidco.com/

The book Getting Things Done (GTD) is the key, and can be commonly found in used bookstores, etc.

There’s a page on 43Folders that has lots of good stuff:

The Ultimate GTD index is at:

http://gtd.marvelz.com/blog/gtd-index

And lifehacker has lots of good GTD stuff as well, including info on doing all your GTD on paper, instead of electronically:

Of course it’s not for everybody. The first time I started using it, I dropped it after about a month. Now, in it’s second iteration I’ve been using it for 3 months and am enjoying the benefits of it.

37nfalling has gotten 3 cheers on this entry.
