I decided to try to pass the GED because I had not finished high school and was interested at the time in pursuing a college career. I purchased a study workbook and studied a few chapters each day for about a month leading up to writing the test.
‘Twas a cold and snowy day when I wrote it. I wrote the test in Owen Sound Ontario, with about 30 other people of all ages. I felt confident about writing the test and I was happy when it was over.
I recieved my results in the mail on December 22nd, three days before Christmas 2006. I passed! With flying colours! 90% average score. I got a 96 on my essay. :)
Writing the GED not only opened up many, many doors for me, career-wise (I was accepted into every college I applied to with the GED), it also increased my confidence in my own abilities. I HIGHLY recommend the GED – it will get you places. I am so happy I did it.
