I’ve lost about 10lbs since last december. I want to lose 5 to 10lbs more and it seems impossible. I suddenly lost my motivation in the last couple weeks and I am going back to bad habbits. As in exercising less and eating junk food. Agh!
It doesnt help that my husband is completely fit. So when we exercise together (or bike, hike, or jog) together he is totally bored and i’m exhausted! I cant keep up and feel like giving up all the sooner.
I need some motivation- anyone have any?
Comments:
I find it helpful to try something new when I lose my motivation and discipline.
Maybe it’d be fun to try something he’s not so familiar with. Since I’m a yoga nut, I immediately thought of Iyengar yoga.
Yoga is, I have to say, not the most efficient means of weight loss in the world, especially when you’re a beginner. But it’s very precise, has a lot of varied things to do, and is a great complement to other forms of exercise. It’ll improve your posture, too, which will make you look like you’ve lost five or ten pounds. When I do my yoga practice, it gets my day going right and reminds me to eat well and take walks.
My husband and I have been racing on the treadmill—we call it “Seattle To Portland @ Home”, and whoever gets to 197 miles first wins a fabulous prize. It’s been fun, and if you and he ever exercise separately you could try something along those lines. Since your husband is much fitter than you are, you could establish a handicap; your miles could count double, or it could be that he’d have to run while you could walk.
