Never again will I attempt a marathon north of the Mason Dixon line in the fall/winter. Three weeks before the Seattle Marathon I got a cold that lasted for two weeks so I dropped down to the half marathon event. On the day of the event, it was rain-snow slush in the AM and cold rain the entire race. The next day I found out I ran the 13.1 miles with severe anemia. My doctor was amazed I could run half a mile since my iron stores were a 3. As soon as wedding season ends, I’m hitting the trail again for the Vancouver Marathon in May.
