method: copying newspaper article, using word counter and timed using stopwatch. includes time spent correcting words afterwards as identified by spell check.

So I’ve got some way to go but I’ll get there as most of my typing mistakes are actually corrected while I’m typing, which probably is less efficient than correcting for typing errors afterwards, but perhaps more reliable.
