I didn’t buy my grey.. but actually adopted him from a rescue organization. Greys are WONDERFUL companions for people who have a lot of time to spend with them and have previous experience with parrots. My grey Darwin is an absolute joy! And I highly recommend adopting vs buying from a breeder whenever possible.
...but it has been hard for me to find a grey (or eclectus) to rescue. I was in Florida (=parrot country) and could not find one to adopt. There’s no great hurry, but there is a parrot in my future. The people I have spoken to all sang the praises of greys, and I know of eclectus from personal experience.
i’ve been looking to adopt but i don’t know where to find a grey out here in CA, I’ve looked at Mickaboo but they seem to just have macaws and ‘toos. Suggestions?
