Have a totally different life in eighteen months (read all 4 entries…)

While this may not be tied to the one year deadline, I am looking for my future work and home. My wife and I visited two places that were in the running: Minneapolis and Albuquerque. MPLS is on the possible list, ABQ is not.

They seem to be trying to do a gentrification of ABQ, if it goes forward, maybe I will reassess, if not then no way. It was awful.

Minneapolis

Minneapolis is a great city. I used to travel there all the time for business and I once gave some serious consideration to making a permanent move there. The people were great, the city was clean, beautiful women abound, and there is a lot of culture.

The one thing I could not get over, however, was how long it stayed dark in the winter. It would get dark around 4PM in the dead of winter and I just could not deal with that. I felt like I was living on the moon.

You know, everyone seems to love Minneapolis. As soon as I mention it anywhere, people tell me about how much they love it.

Thanks for mentioning the dark, that might get to me, too.
