We took a stranger’s advice and decided to hike up Blood Mountain, Georgia. The name should have been our first clue. We started too late, and darkness and rain overtook us on the way down. We lost the trail in pitch blackness, stumbled around and finally found some one else going down the mountain, and they had a light. We realized that no one knew where we were or what we were doing. We left our cell phones in the car, along with our water and identification. Only worth doing from the vantage that you learn from your mistakes. Hope we won’t be that dumb again.
