I have always loved that painting but thought it would be for ever before I would get to see it (I live in Texas). The MET did a traveling exhibit so they could remodel(I think that is why) and the only US stop they made was Houston, Texas. Why they decided that was it in the US I have no idea. The rest of the exhibit was going to go to Europe. Well some of my friends and I drove from DFW to Houston and it was just the best trip. The painting was so beautiful and the colors are not what is portrayed in all the copies. The blacks are more brown and the blues are more green.
