I’m still not sure whether learning Dutch has been worth the effort. The lack of a rich literary history to enjoy is a little disappointing. I would say it’s only worth learning Dutch if you have a practical reason, such as if you are going to live in a Dutch-speaking country or have a Dutch-speaking spouse, etc.
