manage my time and energy better (read all 7 entries…)
Breakfast 2 years ago

I have figured it out. I need to eat breakfast and I need to do what my body needs, not what I am reading in some quacky books. I stopped drinking coffee. I did not have any of the withdrawal symptoms that heavy drinkers tend to have because I only drink one cup (er, small bowl) in the morning.

So this week, I went back to my coffee and I eat a piece of fruit. Now I can get through work for a few hours without feeling drained. I am eating a decent lunch too. I figure that if I get my five+ servings of fruits and vegetables then I will be good and can mark this goal as complete.

Have you read....

The Power of Full Engagement by Jim Loehr?

It talks about how to manage your energy and talks about the 4 types:

- physical (exercise / nutrition)
- mental (how to stay focused)
- emotional (managing emotions and doing stuff that makes u happy)
- spiritual (feeling connected to nature etc)

Great goal – good luck!

I will head over to the library and take a look at the book.

Breakfast

I definitely applaud you for recognizing the importance of breakfast in your life. I went for many years without eating breakfast, and now that I’ve been doing it for the last eight months I’ve noticed a big difference in my focus in the morning.

Besides, would you let your child go without breakfast? The same principle should apply to all of us.
