I found this website by looking up on google for webpages that included both Cornel West and Saul Williams. Both I have now met, cuz they came to my school to speak. Both were among the most amaizing experiences of my life. One of the many ideas in Cornel’s speach which deeply moved me was the idea that being critical is not a matter of being pessimistic, it is a matter of being more human by facing the sorrows that come with being human, and that if you are not human enough to cry, you are not human enough to love.

I got to meet him afterwords and he was very excited about the plans for my future which I shared with him. It was a blessed moment.
