but I am giving up on this for now. As I mentioned earlier, this was one of a jillion self-improvement things I have been doing this summer, and I simply can’t do it all and pay attention to everything. I think I’ve been taking adequate – more than adequate – care of my physical health this summer and will carry on doing so; I need to attend to my emotional health. It’s all part of the same package, of course, but it’s a question of focus . . .

Y’all kick ass, though.

If it’s not working for you right now, it’s not for you right now! You can always come back to it if/when you feel the need, and in the meantime – good luck with all the self-improvements :)

Seconding Calypte.

You’re already doing masses to improve your life, and this one is particularly time-consuming. It might not seem so from the outset, but it really is – not so much the doing, but all the damn thinking. It’s quite traumatising.

Don’t overdo it. Too many self-improvement tasks at once are the brain and body equivalent of going on a crash diet, and are bound to result in a mental and physical backlash/standstill. Come back any time!
