I’ve been putting this off, and I really shouldn’t. For one, I had some funky cells a number of years ago. It turned out to be fine, but I like to keep on top of my internals. 2… I’ve been getting some peculiar left side ovarian cramping lately. Crossing my fingers. Crossing my toes. The office called yesterday, so I’ll call back for a mid-cycle appointment.

Yea, get it checked and hope they don’t want to do a “va…. ultrasound”. They make you drink a bunch of water then HOLD it. It gets worse from there, but its about as survivable as a mammogram. Man that sucks.
Ovarian cysts -better to know they are there though because when they burst, its one big multihour contraction. I got the cervix resurfaced many years ago after some funky tests and its a relief to not have to keep worrying.

Ever notice how these things kind of look like rockhopper penguins? Now thats a thought while you’re laying on the table.
Ran into a great picture on google and traced it back to a blog http://collateraldamage.worldpress.com/tag/self-indulgence/ which seems to have adopted them as their mascot because of their crazy looks. Apparently it has something to do with penquins being rescued from a truck accident in texas and subsiquent irony.

I always refer to it as “the cold metal duck”. Although, to be fair, I have a lovely doctor and she warms it up under warm water first. Shudder. I may have pornographic nightmares about waterfowl now.
Oh – yes, and I remember all the ultrasounds I had when I was pregnant. Now there is a time when you really don’t want the doc to keep you waiting. Or have a good sense of humor, for that matter.
Hopefully all will be well. But you’re quite right ASAP would be good.
