I have some wool and needles that I don’t use, plus an absolutely hilarious book of bad ‘80s knitwear patterns called (get ready to laugh) Knit Wits, written by erstwhile wordsmith, Countdown presenter, Tory PM and all-round smartarse knobhead Giles Brandreth. You are welcome to the lot if you wish. There’s very likely a wolf jumper in there.

I hope your friend wasn’t serious, you can’t go to a wedding in leggings unless it’s a fancy dress wedding and they’re part of your Robin Hood costume.

Yes, all the patterns are modelled by Giles’s celebrity friends, and he proper schmoooozes up to them. “Here’s the gorgeous Bonnie Langford, a fantastic actress and a close personal friend, looking simply purrrfest in this witty feline number.”

I’ve been slowly introducing him to the internet over the last few days. he was over the moon to find out that he shares his name with the West Midlands regional finalist for Mr Gay UK 2005. It’s quite cute watching his delight at being able to find obsucre records and learning all about Ebay!
