I think I’m getting there, slowly…
But I just realized that this goal isn’t really measurable because it can go on forever. You can always make your blog more valuable and popular.
That’s why I’m now defining a measure for this goal: when my blog 500 RSS subscribers, I consider this goal reached.
Popularity and value to readers are two different things. The latter your blog already has to a high degree. (At least to me. I measure it by deviding entries marked important with total entries.)

I guess it’s really important that I don’t lose the value while trying to increase the popularity.
After all, these two things go hand in hand. Value has to come first, and then when correctly marketed it will lead to popularity.
