stop blushing
Untitled

I don’t think this is possible. I have found that taking a few deep breaths when it is happening until the feeling of heat goes away is the easiest remedy. For me, blushing only worsens when someone notices and comments about it (which, btw, is EXTREMEMLY rude), like, “Oh my god, look how red you’re turning!!” or “why are you getting so red?”. HATE that. Makes you just want to punch that person out.

The worst was this one time, I was wearing a red shirt and I was in a university class presenting my work. I could already feel the blush coming on as soon as my name was called to present. The teacher started to really criticize my work, and I didn’t know what to say when he asked me a question (I was too busy thinking “DON’T BLUSH!!”), so I began to turn all shades of red! A guy in the class said, “Holy! You’re turning the color of your SHIRT!”

Then the prof kinda reprimanded me and said that I need to learn to take criticism a lot better. It was such a put down. And how could I explain that I wasn’t embarrassed by his criticism, I was embarrassed by my blushing??

Comments:

Sams_is_back is catching up on 43 things

Used to happen to me often in elementary school and highschool and a few times at university. I got better at controlling it at university – something about being surrounded by a bunch of great people really helps. It also helps trying to imagine potentially horrible situations before entering into them and realizing that they really aren’t that bad. it happens from time to time nowadays but not nearly as bad or as often.
