How about the beginning of May?
I may want to be in Bologna around then too, it could be a tour!

commit to anything yet as have to attend trustees’ meetings for which the dates haven’t been agreed. Suggest everyone else goes ahead regardless and I’ll hope to be able to make it!

we can wait too.
When will you know the meeting dates?
They all have meetings in November and I think they sort the dates out then. June is a good month for me if that’s not leaving it too late.

(cough, cough), so i can probably be very flexible.

I either suggest may (after the 12 would be best for me) or june (but it’s a month of exams, so that’s tricky).
In some weeks I might know better.
In any case Silvie, if you are coming to Bologna in May as I read elsewhere we migh meet then also (I’m in Bologna more often than not, have you already been there?).

in Italy (so far!).
not counting Sardinia
My violin was born in Bologna many years ago, and I also have an urge to visit Cremona, but I think I will need lots of spending money if I do :)
Bologna next May will be for a concert (but it’s early days yet). And it would be great to meet if I do come.

we will meet fi you come! Great!
As soon as you know the dates we might try to organise the Lucca meeting around your dates (if that’s conveninent for you). There would be no point in coming twice.
Are you playing at the concert?

I think there might be every point, there is so much to see and do.
The Bologna concert would be I think May 7th, but it is not confirmed yet. And no I won’t be playing in it, just watching and listening.
Maybe we should all go, and I might need a local superagent to procure a ticket for me nearer the time :)

you could come just once and stay longer. Not certainly that you would get bored after just one visit!
I can procure tickets of course, and would be glad to do that!

was born in Bologna!
My teacher of Harmony and composition (who is from Bologna) has a good friend who makes violin and cellos. Maybe he made your?
And just near the university in Bologna there’s a lovely laboratory where it’s possible to see the man working to make the violin. It’s a charming sight!

made my violin unless he is very very old. It was made in 1804!!
maybe I should bring it with me to visit it’s birthplace

an antique violin you have! must be very precious to you indeed!
may I ask how long did it take to you to be able to play it starting as an adult? it’s not just a question out of curiosity
