Should it be- “Eat better chocolate”? I had some very good company over, and we each had squares of Pierre Herme, Hediard, Green & Black’s and Foucher dark chocolate. Then we rated them according to preference. I was so chuffed by the idea that I had to have another chocolate tasting straight away. (By the way, Pierre Herme’s nibby bar won.)
For the second tasting I couldn’t wait for an assemblage of friends, and it was a milk-chocolate tasting anyway- some people are put off by milk-chocolate; heaven knows why.
This time we had Valrhona, Hediard, SOMA, and Maison au Chocolat. Maison and SOMA were the best!

I was thinking

as good Rats do when they are being tubbed, about…celebrity.
I remember “back in the day” reading an issue of Chocolatier that featured celebrities’ chocolate fantasies. They were off-putting to say the least. Now I can’t think about Chocolatier without associating it with Dudley Moore and Sheena Easton and their so-called edginess. I know the word I’m looking for: egad.
I understand at last why Madonna irks you so. We’ll have to put all of this behind us, darling, if we are to make our mark in the universe!
