Best thing to do is get a pair of sticks and start playing along to music you like . Drums are easy to practice – you just need something to hit. I started with school books and just stomped my foot for a bass drum. If you have access to a drum kit – play it. The best way to learn is to play with other people so try to join or form a band. You’ll pick it up fast.
Good luck!
I started that way too. just bang on random stuff, or tap pens during class. If a friend has a band with a jam session coming up,go to that and just play. most musicians are glad to help others along with getting into an instrument.
Thank you very much lol.
But since I made this (thing) quite a while ago I am now able to play anything thanks to my drum teacher, my friends and lots of practice, I am now In a band and I always have fun doing whatever beats I play =)
buy a metrenome, get some sticks, alternate left to right play on a pillow, it has less rebound so it will build your hands up faster, just start with the metrenome, learn to play at diffrent stick hieghts, then try patterns like sixtenth notes and triplets, www.myspace.com/casalino
a little solo if me on there
good luck
