vegetable stock  — 10 months ago

Well, I have to make this stuff in order to make most of the dishes in my new cookbook. I successfully chopped all the necessary vegetables and even learned how to peel garlic (which I am very proud of, thank you.) It is currently simmering on the stove for an hour and then I’ll have vegetable stock ready for tomorrow night’s dinner. I am excited. This feels good already!

I was making vegetable stock. I knew I could buy it at the market but this sounded like more fun. It made my apartment smell wonderful too.

Hehe! Thank you! I basically chopped big chunks of carrots, celery, peeled garlic (which I thought was fun to learn), chopped big chunks of onion, and put peppercorns and a bayleaf in. Submersed in a pot of water. Simmered for an hour while I did something else. I think it was a good experience. :-)
