does anyone know a decent program that would let you do something like this? ie design a landscape and a house and let you wander around in it?

yeah i don’t need a real cad system, something more like a game would be nice. maybe one of those game engines, like quake, or crystalspace…

and then if i ever wanted to actually build it in the real world, i could transfer it to autocad, or whatever…
my brother’s an architect also, though he doesn’t like computers. bad timing, i guess – someday displays will be more like giant sheets of paper…

i downloaded a small but great game called OuterWorlds of the internet. it is a chat, but u can also build houses and worlds, and travel to different places. becoming a yearly citizen (which gives u much more advantages) is only 39.99.
OuterWorlds is the best and only takes up 55.5 KB
I’m on it 6/4 (not 24/7)
