Oakland’s Chinatown: seems like every time I’m there for dim sum, the neighborhood is having some kind of outdoor festival. I was just there last weekend and we all stumbled onto the the arts and crafts fair. Firecrackers, singers and dancers were on every corner.

Oakland Museum: First Fridays of the month the museum has outdoor cinema screenings. Last month I saw GUMBY DHARMA about Art Clokey, the creator of Gumby cartoons.

The first Tuesday of the month, there’s free documentary screenings inside the museum and tonight it’s PLEASE VOTE FOR ME.
