Second Opinion

My Pulmonologist has referred me to someone else for a 2nd opinion.
Maybe this guy will figure it out and I’ll get off the dreaded steroid.
I go see him tomorrow.

This IS Possible

The old Dr. was a jerk and had me trying to wean off the steroid in a short time.
The new Dr. says that is impossible when I’ve been on it for 4 years. He is going to work with me to get me off of it once and for all over a longer period of time.

To top this all off. I don’t even have asthma. The jerk was treating me wrong for 2 years!! I don’t know where he got his degree but it must have been a cereal box prize.

20mg A Day

I’m down to 20mg a day and will stay there I would say for another week and then slowly decreasing it more. I’ll go to 18 1/2 mg then down to 15mg and so on until I am at 5mg where I will stay for about a month before weaning further. Steroids are not easy to get off of so whatever you do don’t get on them long term if you can prevent it.

Grrrrr

I knew it wouldn’t be this easy. I was down to 12.5mg when BANG I run into trouble breathing again.
I am now doing 15mg one day, 12.5mg the next and so on. I guess I’ll have to do this for a while.
Nobody ever said it was going to be easy but I sure hoped it would be.
Live and learn but this is going to happen.
