be a pre-school teacher
Untitled 2 years ago

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE little kids. But 15 or 20 little kids who pick their nose, pull each other’s hair, climb on walls and pee themselves while you attempt to teach ABC’s is VERY HARD WORK. I took my ECE classes, started out as an assistant teacher before I became a certified teacher. The most stressful 5 months of my life. Parents wanted to know why their child pee’d themselves for the 13th time, and I feel like saying “ITS YOUR JOB TO POTTYTRAIN YOUR KID LADY!” but alas, I had to keep that snow white happy go lucky smile everyday while I waved goodbye to all those sweet, energy sucking little people. No really, I love kids… maybe 1 or 2 at a time. Other than that, its overwhemling, more like babysitting rather than teaching. If you have the paitence then go for it. Also, take lots of Vitamin C daily because little kids tend to carry lots of germs and I was always getting sick from them. Ew.

I just had to laugh at your post!! I’m sure I’ll feel like that some days this winter when half of them are sick and I’m sick too. But today was my first day and it was SO awesome. 10 kids & 2 teachers makes it easier. We split up for part of the day and have 5 at a time and that’s a dream job. Can’t wait to go again!
