LunaNueva is feeling a little sick and blue in this blue moon

read Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (read all 9 entries…)
Good, long book 2 years ago

It took me forever, and I had to rush it at the end —so I could catch the movie while it was still in theaters. It’s the longest of the series, and it didn’t quite grasp me at the beginning. But, as with the previous 4, at the end I couldn’t put the book down!!

Order of the Phoenix

was very hard to get through at the beginning for me, too. And it mostly just depressed me with that mean old Dolores Umbridge. Sheesh. But still… I got to a point where I couldn’t put the book down, either! :)

Dolores vs Harry

I got more depressed with Harry’s self-loathing, depressing, egotistical, uncertain, etc, thoughts and remarks throughout a good portion of the book… until I realized that he’s a 15-year-old boy!! Typical!! lol

I cannot but admire the brilliance of Rowling’s depiction of the character and how she’s captured his teenage phases. Magnificent!

Oooo, and I just found out that the film is still in theaters AND it’s also at the IMAX!! I think y’all know where to find me next Monday ;)

I hadn't thought of it that way

I’m glad he got through the 15-year-old boy phase. And I’m glad I wasn’t ever a 15-year-old boy. heh

Have fun at the movie!! I saw it at the IMAX, too.

15-year olds

Well, but we were 15-year-old girls!! And I don’t know which is worse!! lol! And I don’t know about you, but Harry is no match compared to what I was!! OMG! I was such a brat… ::rolls eyes and nods head—and giggles a bit::

I didn’t make it to the IMAX :( I assumed the movie ran through Thursday—like a regular theater—, and I didn’t check till Monday just to find out the last day was Sunday :S Bummer! But on a good note, the Deathly Hallows book was ready for pick up yesterday, and I already read almost 200 pages!! We’ll have to comment later on…

It's weird

I can’t remember what I felt like when I was 15. I know I spent a lot of time alone in my room listening to or playing music or playing Atari games.

Did you finish Deathly Hallows yet?? :)

Turnoffs of OotP

I was just recapitulating this book to myself and trying to remember what its turnoffs were, because I really felt it was a good book altogether. And you know what my conclusion was? It wasn’t even Dolores; it was all the dusting they did at 12 Grimauld Place, and then all the knitting Hermione did. OMG! Like I do not have enough household chores already on top of reading it endlessly in a HP book!! LOL

I just finished Hallows last week and loved it :) I’ll reread it more slowly (and all the series as well) after a deservedly HP break. Mrs. D? I’m thinking hard, and I don’t remember who that is. Yes, do explain please. So many things happened in the last book, that right now they’re just flashing in my mind ;)

Dolores (warning: mild spoiler)

Yes, just when you were beginning to “forgive” Dolores a little, there she comes again with yet another decree!! Did you see the movie? I loved the way they resolved this decree thing: by nailing decree after decree to the high wall! Brilliant! However, although I thought Imelda Staunton was great in the role, somehow I imagined a very different person. Since the book mentioned Dolores’ toadlike face a few times, I always pictured her like Roz from Monsters Inc!! Seriously, I went through the entire OotP imagining Dolores like Roz!! LOL!!

As for favorite, I agree with you on the books — although I also liked this one of the Order, and Azkaban as well. The first two I liked, too, but the last five have just been improvement after improvement from Rowling, and I’m just grateful for that —that the books didn’t go downhill but otherwise :) Well, except for the epilogue… :P
