This goal will never be complete until I die. Just sad to see so many rushing to mark and mutilate their bodies.

congrats...
on being an individual and not joining the rest of the flock..I have tattoos and don’t regret them…but it seems every man and his dog gets mindless crap etched on their bodies now and I think the cultural origins have been lost.

That is why I have them
and more than likely will get a couple more.
They are forever. I will forever have beauty on my body, not just beauty but something I created and has special meaning to me.
I applaud you on keeping to your ethics and convictions. When I am 62 and they are all saggy and faded, I’ll look at them with tears in my eyes and remember parts and pieces of my life that I might other wise forget.

It's sad
In the same way that it’s sad when someone carves their initials in a tree or when they cut a gash in a mountain to build some houses on, or when someone spray paints garbage on the side of a beautiful building.
Alaythia is slowly settling in
This is a tangent..
but when we went hiking on Mt. Charleston not too long ago I was really hacked off when I saw that people had carved their names in trees on the trail and that they had the audacity to spray-pray graffiti on the cliffs we’d hiked so far to see. Some places should just be off limits. : /
