have more dinner parties (read all 9 entries…)

Worth doing!

Our big tamales & arroz con pollo Labor Day housewarming was delightful-but being introverts, we agreed afterward that once a year is plenty often for a big party like that (nearly 40 people). What I have a yen for is a small party, with everyone fitting around the same table & thus being part of the same conversation. Candles, wine, a bit of music at the beginning & end, interesting yummy food, & maybe martinis as well as a yummy dessert to end with . . . so very civilized & delicious. :)

This may not happen until after the conference that we’re planning for late October. But after that I would love to get into a monthly rhythm.

my dear fellow introverts

It makes me so happy, and makes me feel like maybe i’m not so crazy to read your comments. My dh and I are introverts too, but we have very extroverted children, so twice a year I have to plan these big birthday bashes, and it’s so exhausting, and I felt guilty for not enjoying them more.

Have you had any more?

yes!

There was Thanksgiving dinner, where the guests did fill up two tables, but one of them was just a card table. The connections & conversation were so warm . . .

Thursday evening I’ll be cooking a Colombian meal for my daughter (tomorrow is her 28th birthday!), her friend, & my son’s family. That’s the ideal-size group for a dinner party—8 of us.

Nudge appreciated!
