I know this is a time of transition in your life…trying to finish your PhD, with all the stress that must entail, and wondering what will come next. I’m going through a time of transition too, so I can empathize. And we are also similar in being organizationally-challenged at times. Here is my birthday wish for you, in the words of the immortal Mister Rogers:

Often when you think you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else. I’ve felt that many times. My hope for all of us is that “the miles we go before we sleep” will be filled with all the feelings that come from deep caring…delight, sadness, joy, wisdom…and that in all the endings of our life, we will be able to see the new beginnings.

So, here’s to your new beginnings. I hope that if you continue on 43-things, I’ll get to know more about you, and we’ll continue to cheer each other on as we “rock on” together.
