finish knitting my youngest child's "baby" blanket (read all 9 entries…)

Worth doing!

Getting there...  — 11 months ago

I laid out all the squares I have knit so far and it makes a blanket that would just fit over little one right now so I guess I’m about 3/4 done…

Are you making Granny squares? Knitting squares, and then sewing the pieces together?

I like knitting too, although I haven’t had much time these days.

The last thing that I knitted was a pink hat about 4 days before I went into labour. I needed to have something to do to pass the time, and to keep my mind off things. Funny thing is that I didn’t know the gender of the baby, but had a feeling that I should knit something pink.

Yes...it's Granny squares all the way, baby!

I’m almost done…I keep rearranging my pattern and then figure out I need to knit more squares!

Isn’t that wonderful Mother’s intuition…you knew you were going to have a gorgeous baby girl! Congrats again!

I would love to be able to knit something besides blankets but I’m intimidated by the round needles you need to use for knitting sleeves, hats, etc. Is it that hard to learn?

How long have you been knitting for?

I was thinking about taking a knitting class sometime but my husband’s schedule is so unpredictable that it makes it difficult for me to do things like that.

Circular needles are awesome!

I LOVE knitting with circular needles! At first, I thought that it would be difficult, but after a while it turned out that they were almost easier to use than 2 needles.

The turbo circular needles are the best! I like the metal tips because the wool slides off easily, and it makes knitting go so much faster.

I use the circular needles for making hats, but they can be used for anything. I haven’t made any blankets, but I think that they would be great for making wide blankets (probably more like a baby blanket) because you can cast on a lot of stitches.

I took knitting lessons last year, but haven’t been back. I think that I’ve probably learned most of the basics, and what I haven’t learned I’ll have to look up in the books that I bought.
