I got to climb the Grand twice this summer as leader for a teen travel group that went with Exum guides. It was awesome, even more incredible than I’d expected. I’ve wanted to do this for so long. After my kids passed climbing school the guides OK’d them to climb. I was so excited! I’d been climbing for a while but this was my first big mountain. It was a beautiful hike to the lower saddle and an incredible experience going up to the summit. I went up the Exum Ridge route the first time and the Owen Spaulding the second. Definitely worth doing.
