I started playing in high school on a Lyon and Healy Prelude. If you really want to start that is the place to look, they manufacture 90% of the worlds harps one plant in Paris France the other in Chicago Illinois. A prelude when I bought mine was $4k and lessons were $20 a half hour. They also have a rent to own program and a list of teachers in your area (or at least the Chicago area as that is where I lived at the time) Some colleges have harp teachers. Other than that I would check at local music stores (particulary stores that sell harps or other stringed instruments and/or sheet music.
