Trust God more and more! (read all 9 entries…)
So God & I were talking the other day... 2 years ago

And I just have such a hard time wrapping my mind around the God-idea. I know it’s probably sacreligious to talk/write like that, but then the other half of me says ‘if you can’t be honest about this, what can you be honest with?’...

Anyway, I’m trying to live a life that is religious, however I fail miserably daily. My priest tells me that that is normal and nothing to worry about, but it still distresses me and wears me down at the thought.

I would love to actually take theology courses and get to the deep inner workings of the Bible. I want to go somewhere where I can ask a million questions to experts and not feel ignorant as I read. The bible I have is the New American Version, and it’s still difficult to understand a lot of the time.

But I guess, this is why it’s one of my goals… to delve deep and have my questions answered and find the trust that I’ve been hoping to find.

New Isabella is wishing you a Merry Christmas and/or a happy holiday...

Ahoy, matey!

The God that I believe in is, by definition, vast, (infinitely so, more vast than the entire Universe), unfathomable, mysterious, and beyond human understanding. That doesn’t stop me from trying to understand more, however. Also, the God that I believe in allows and even welcomes questions, doubts, uncertainty, frustration, and discouragement, and above all, honesty. Seek, and ye shall find. Cheers!

Thank you, thank you

I recently read a 43t’ers comment on “being a better atheist”. It lead to a website that brought up all these myths and has had my brain in overdrive questioning my faith. And recently I’ve been trying so hard to be faithful and trusting, so it was a blow to the progress.

But, I certainly appreciate the insight and the encouragement!

Have a blessed day!!!

well if you are

going to take the time read stuff. I recommend the Case for Christ by Lee Strobel its a very easy read and won’t take a long time to finish and also Mere Christianity by CS Lewis.

Even Mother Theresa questioned God...

Had you seen the news stories about Mother Theresa questioning her faith? I actually took this as a positive sign: We ALL question God, even Mother Theresa! Still, she kept up her work and became a symbol to the world of the beauty of humanity. She didn’t give up trying to understand. Isn’t that amazing?

I’m actually agnostic (believe in a higher power, but don’t follow a specific religion) and was raised this way. At first, I felt outside the loop, like I should have a religion and belong to a group. But now, I see that each person expresses what God is when they follow their heart. There are millions of ways to express beauty, truth, peace, love…just look at nature, look at humanity, look at the beautiful hopeful things inthe world that have been created and maintained over the years. It’s really there, in everything. Even in your doubt b/c that will lead you to greater understanding. (Know what I mean?)
