My dog’s name is M.A.G. (Magnificent Animal Girl). She insists that I walk her every morning before I have my coffee. I’d rather have my coffee first and then sit on the porch and read for an hour.

We’ve been walking almost daily for more than 3 months. We’ve done this walking thing before for shorter periods and it didn’t work for various reasons. This time though it’s the specificity that helps; first thing in the morning, 1 mile, a dedicated route, it’s all about her, exercise for me has nothing to do with it, if she stops to smell something for 10 minutes then I just stand there.
