It’s the French Quarter restaurant where the locals go. It’s ono Decatur right across from Margaritaville. I can never turn down a plate of etouffee (especially not if someone else is buying), but I hear their pork chops are excellent as well.

I miss their gumbo! I also miss central groceries muffalata- have one for me!

That’s something I have yet to do, eat at Central Groceries muffalata. My sister is coming in from out of town, and I’d take her there except she’s a vegetarian.

When I was subbing in kindergarten out in New Orleans East, the teacher that I worked with and I were watching Who Wants to be a Millionaire and one of the questions was about a muffalata. She was like, doesn’t everyone call it that? I told her that it was very much a New Orleans thing, most other place in the US a similar sandwich is called an Italian sandwich or a cold cut sub.
