When I make small websites which are only a few pages I don’t seem to bother to create any templating system. But I had to update an eight page site recently and create a French version of it too. Suddenly those 8 pages seemed to be a lot of work.

So nowadays I tend to break up even the smallest of sites. You may be doing this already. One for the header, one for the sidebar and one for the footer. If you have to go and update your header for even 10 pages it’s a pain.
