So am I the only one who feels like the harder I try to get ahead the further behind I seem to fall? My husband is a full time student so I have the only income for our family of four. Just when I think that we’re getting to a place where we can begin to exhale, something crawls out of the wood work and we are left back in the tight space we just crawled out of, or worse! Why do cars have to break down when rent is do? Why do we run out of diapers and toilet paper right after I pay school tuition? And really since when does thirty dollars only get you milk, eggs, bread, and some ground beef and baby food costs more than adult food for 1/4 the amount!(SCREAM!!) Sorry for venting, feeling frustrated!

Hi Crestiveshell
I had a similar situation when my children were little. We didn’t have much money so, instead of buying baby food, when I made dinner, I got the blender out and put a mixer of what we were having in it and blend away…my kids would eat it up. Just don’t use alot of spices. I would add a bit of chicken stock or water if the food was to dry to blend. Hope this helps!

I’m on mat. leave now with 3 kids while my hubby works p/t and goes to school… that’s exactly what I do for the baby… puree our dinner vegetables & fruit. Only child #1 got baby food and he was the pickiest eater of all. Hard to switch him over to “real” food. I’d recommend it too.
