Election Antics

It’s that time of year again when we’re starting to get bombarded with those don’t-vote-for-this-person ads. This negative campaigning has become the norm thanks to mudslingers like Rove. Shouldn’t a person’s own record stand for itself, so that you don’t have to drag your opponent through the mud?

I think this is endemic of the whole problem with our political structure nowadays. With the two big parties in control, it’s an us vs. them battle where whoever has the majority blocks progress instead of working together to better society as a whole. Even with Rove having stepped down, I expect that we’re going to see an increasing set of antics leading up to next year’s presidential election. How many more times is Mitt Romney going to change his stand on the major issues? How many more funding scandals are going to be brought up by Republicans against Democrats or vice versa?

So who do I think would be the best ticket for next year’s election? Clinton/Obama. Hillary has proven herself as a Senator, and it’s time for a woman to take control of the country so that we can stop having the testosterone warmongering. Obama doesn’t have the experience to step right into the Presidency. He’s naive. I think that eight years as Vice President would get him the experience he would need to lead the nation. Plus it’s time for a minority in the White House.

Will my ideal ticket happen? Only time will tell, but it’s something to think about while ignoring all the mudslinging going on.

The mudslinging gets...

worse every election…the chants of “My opponent is the embodiment of Satan” and other such nonsense makes me wonder what the writers of these things are thinking…But such dirty tactics have influenced many a voter…

The ideal ticket for me will come from the Libertarian party
...they have some different ideas on how to get less than 1 % of the vote nationwide run the country…and I’m sick of 2 party politics…

Do they have a chance? What were those odds on getting struck by lightning?...

The logical result

of the negative emphasis would be to have people vote against the candidate they hate most, and have the person least hated win…

and while I'm at it

thanks for the “supercheer”!

Anti-Votes

I’ve said it before, but many of my votes are for the candidate most likely to win against the candidate that I don’t want to win. It’s often a case of choosing the lesser of two evils.

P.S. You’re welcome for the SuperCheer. I’ve always found you to be cheerworthy.

Thanks for the compliment

I enjoyed even more than the cheer!

and may I add – you’re one of my very favorite subscriptions – I enjoy reading you always!!

I can't stand the negative ads.

I think that approach hurt John Tory of the “Progressive Conservative” party, in the Ontario Provincial election last week. His pre-election tv ads continuously attacked the incumbent leader, Dalton McGuinty and only rarely dealt with what issues Tory stood for. McGuinty was re-elected with a comfortable majority.

It’s also sad that only 52% of all eligible voters cast a ballot in Ontario. Some don’t care about politics, but even more people don’t believe any politicians are to be trusted and I think some people refrain from voting as a means of protest, concerning the political system. I voted. ;)

ALL politicians are liars, thieves, and general pieces of shit.

ALL of them, regardless of party or professed ideology.

They’re spineless shape-shifters, totally incapable, even if they were willing, to strike a reasonable, non-pandering stance about anything.

And I have just about had these sleazy cocksuckers treating ME like I was some god damned stupe!

I hate all of them, including Thick Ankle Clinton, the shrieking harridan, and that totally unqualified, Obama.

I’ve not a thing against a woman doing anything, nor do I mind colored folks in any role.

But being a woman or being a member of some minority is zero qualification to do anything.

Jesus, these scumbags make my skin crawl.

heaveemetal Still I want And still I ache But still I wait To see you again

This cartoon sums it all up...

either parties talking points are just that…a lot of hot air…when push comes to shove…everything changes…

That's my point.

They are all cut from the same disgusting cloth, whether Democrat or Republican.

It’s disgusting.
