I saw Amartya Sen speak at my alma matter tonight. He received the Nobel prize in 1998 for his work as an economist studying the causes of famine.I’ve been out of the intellectual circuit for too long; I couldn’t follow the lecture as much as I would have liked to. But I was honored to sit and listen to him; to observe him.
