Better to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Besides, fame is fleeting, of no practical use, and rarely as much fun as being infamous :>
Andreya afraid of Halloween! :)
make a positive difference in the lives of others even if you’re famous? ;)
Or infamous? ;))
/& use your ‘fame’ as leverage – like Bono – but he doesn’t see himself as ‘famous’ either;) LOL/
Trouble is Bono, Shakira and Jolie are the exception rather than the rule. Sadly, it seems in most cases that fame becomes synonomous with selfishness because celebrities live in a culture of constant affirmation.
Good examples:
Britney Spears – $737,000 month- $0 to charity. Jessica Simpson, who interrupted a charity event in Africa to go on safari, then refused to visit sick children (agreed to when she signed on for the event). Jim and Tammy Bakker, televangelists, who could have a category all to themselves.
Infamous is a little harder to peg. The 2007 Robin Hood event netted $71 million, from the wallets of fatcat fund managers, but I figure it borders on pocket change when one considers their individual personal wealth.
I reckon it comes down to an individual choice, but human nature tends to list to the greedy side if unchecked.
