get out of debt (read all 20 entries…)

i am about to cut up my credit card.  — 10 months ago

so…

going to do something unbelievably crazy and cut up my card.

I know it’s not going to stop me using it completely as i know the number off by heart and can still use it to buy stuff on the internet but i really need to get into the habit of paying this off and not using it.

i am back to badly in debt since i last updated this .. i spent heaps on my credit card although a couple of hundred of it will be reimbursed by work but i doubt i’ll put it back on there unless i cut it up.

so current status is-

Credit Card – $4,769.80
Car – $2500

And I’m kind of worried cos i have two weeks of work left and then I’m back to potentially 2 months of no work.but at least i have some money saved up for those 2 months and will of course be looking for work while i’m traveling.

I like charts

When I was working on my credit card that helped me to always work on paying it down. I would have hated to have to make the line move upward on my chart. Maybe that would help. It does suck but it will feel so awesome when you are done. Plus, kudos on saving the travel money.

Cut it!

I cut my credit card two months ago and I have found it extremely helpful, but if your worried, write the numbers down emergencies. Good Luck

So?

Did you cut it up? Is your budget going better? I hope so. Good luck and hang in there. It’s nicer to be debt-free.
