It’s amazing how much time I wasted in front of the TV and how weighed down I felt when I had it on in the background while I worked.
During my two-year bout of un/under employment, I had to switch off the DirecTV for budgetary reasons. I missed some favorite channels/programs at first, but really I haven’t looked back. Except for a 2-week stint during the presidential debates last year, I haven’t watched TV for two years now (and my apartment complex offers free cable TV!).
I read more, get more exercise, watch more Netflix, see more live music…and feel so much lighter not having 24-hour news channels blaring in the background.
I know it seems unlikely, but you CAN live without television. Just unplug it and go out and live life in the 3-dimensional world!
